Rhythm Runner is operated by Rhythm Runners Group.
This Privacy Policy describes how Rhythm Runner collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use the app. This includes information related to run recording, music timelines, routes, AI features, weather, social features, and account functionality.
We collect information to create and manage your account, including your email address, user ID, authentication information, profile details, and account settings.
When you use Rhythm Runner, we collect run start and end times, duration, distance, pace, timestamps, route and activity events, saved runs, and activity metrics.
If you grant permission, we collect your precise GPS location while recording a run. This tracking occurs in the background (including when the app is minimized or your screen is locked), but only while you are actively recording a run. This includes GPS coordinates, route paths, timestamps, pace and location-related data, map visualizations, and beginning/end route hiding where available.
This location data is used to map routes, associate music with locations and moments, calculate activity metrics, retrieve contextual run information, and create run memories.
If you grant permission, Rhythm Runner may access Apple Health / HealthKit or fitness-related data such as workouts, distance, duration, pace, heart rate, cadence, calories, and related running metrics.
HealthKit and fitness data is used only for app functionality and is not used for advertising, marketing, data brokerage, or tracking across apps or websites. You can manage these permissions in Apple Health or your iOS Settings.
We collect music data to associate your listening experience with your runs. This includes Apple Music / MusicKit data where authorized or available, track identifiers, track titles, artist names, album names, album artwork references, playback timestamps, music service identifiers, and song timing during a run.
Note regarding Spotify: Spotify account connection is not currently supported for general users, but the app may display external links to Spotify songs where available. Rhythm Runner does not currently collect Spotify account authentication data from general users.
Rhythm Runner may process your run time, approximate or precise location/route context, and related activity context to retrieve weather information, such as temperature, conditions, wind, humidity, and weather summary or metrics. Apple WeatherKit and/or Visual Crossing may be used to provide weather data associated with your runs.
We collect content you choose to provide, including photos, captions, run names, profile information, comments (if applicable), tags/vibes, reports, and other content you choose to upload or create. Please note that photos or content may reveal location, people, or personal details, and you are responsible for choosing what you upload and share.
We collect information related to your social interactions, including friend relationships, shared run visibility, hide-from-friends state, route beginning/end hiding settings where available, blocks, reports, moderation information, and related interactions.
Rhythm Runner includes live AI features. We may process relevant app data to provide AI-assisted features, such as run summaries, reflections, recommendations, visualizations, generated images, and insights. Relevant app data may include run data, route/location context, music data, weather context, user-provided prompts or captions, photos selected by the user, and related app data. Service providers for these features may include Stability AI and Gemini / Google AI.
We collect crash logs, error reports, app version, device type, operating system version, performance data, product interaction data, approximate usage patterns, and security or abuse-prevention data. We use services such as Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to process this information. This information is used for reliability, debugging, performance, safety, security, abuse prevention, and app improvement.
With your permission, Rhythm Runner may access your device contacts (via iOS Contacts) to help you find friends who use Rhythm Runner. Contact information may include email addresses, phone numbers, and names if available. This information is used solely for friend discovery, matching contacts against Rhythm Runner users, and app functionality. We do not permanently store your raw contacts, nor do we sell or share them with data brokers or advertising networks.

Rhythm Runner may share information with trusted providers that help operate the app, including services for authentication, hosting, database, file storage, analytics, crash reporting, search, maps, weather, music integrations, AI and content generation, customer support, and security.

These providers process information as needed to provide their services. Note that contacts are not sold, shared with data brokers, or used for advertising. Contact information may be processed by trusted service providers only as needed to provide friend discovery and app functionality.
If you authorize or use Apple Music, HealthKit, mapping, weather, or other connected services, information may be exchanged as needed for those features and governed by those services’ own terms and privacy policies.
If you share runs or use social features, other users may see information depending on your app settings and features, such as your profile, shared runs, route previews, music activity, photos, captions, comments, and other content. You can control your visibility, including hiding an entire run from friends and hiding the beginning or end of a route where available.
We may share information to comply with the law, enforce our Terms, prevent fraud or abuse, respond to reports, and protect the rights, safety, and security of Rhythm Runner, our users, or others.
If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

We retain your data for as long as needed to provide the app, maintain your account, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce our Terms, prevent abuse, and maintain security.
You can delete your account at any time in the app settings. Account deletion is designed to delete or disable access to associated account data, your profile, runs, uploaded content, and related app data, subject to limited exceptions. Some information may remain temporarily in backups, logs, or security records. Additionally, some shared content, reports, moderation records, or references may remain where necessary for safety, integrity, legal compliance, or preserving other users’ experience.
Health data stored in Apple Health is controlled through Apple Health or iOS settings. If Rhythm Runner saves data to Apple Health, deleting your account from Rhythm Runner may not automatically delete the separate Apple Health records.
Rhythm Runner uses reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, but please be aware that no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure.
Rhythm Runner is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected such information, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
Your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted in the app or on our website with a new effective date.
